Chief Minister Mahmood Khan of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa took notice of unnecessary delays in the issuance of NOCs for the construction of high-rise buildings and directed authorities to take immediate steps to ensure that NOCs are issued within the specified timelines to provide maximum convenience to private investors.
On Monday, he presided over a meeting of the Department of Local Government and Rural Development.
CM Mahmood stated that the provincial government had enacted laws and established a regularity regime in order to encourage maximum private sector investment, adding that it was the obligation of the concerned departments and entities to implement the laws in letter and spirit.
He cautioned that if there was any negligence or an unwarranted barrier to private investment, the offenders would be held accountable, and no one would be spared.
In addition, the provincial chief executive stated that, rather than facilitating private investment at a lower level, barriers were being erected, which could not be accepted.
