Abdullah Karim Tordher, minister for industries KP, announced that a group of industrialists belonging to Karachi had been successfully operating their businesses in KP to improve the opportunities for economic growth. Further, they want to invest more in KP to decrease the ratio of unemployment in the region.
They intend to establish 13 economic zones all over the provinces to use the local resources and enhance exports. Work on seven of the thirteen zones is under process. Industries minister said to the members of the business community at Karachi Chamber of Commerce and industry on Tuesday.
KP government has withdrawn around 17 different taxes to encourage investment in industrialization. The industrialist’s community will look for joint ventures in the development of gems, gypsum, mines, and minerals, cold water fishing, hydropower, hunting arms, fruits and vegetables, organic fruits, and tea which can be harvested on a wide area of 180000 acres.
The opportunities of investment in the energy sector exist in abundant amount, including transmission and distribution, while the tourism sector, hydropower generation, and also there are a lot of opportunities in the hospitality industry. In this regard, the KP government is going towards the establishment of four tourism zones to attract investors for other cities in Pakistan and abroad.
The KP government also allocated $400 million to approve the construction of a road from Peshawar to Torkham.
