KP Government to Spend Rs600 million for Up-gradation of Hospitals
Provincial health minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra has announced that the KP government will spend Rs600 million for up-gradation of the District Headquarters Hospital, Lakki Marwat. He claimed to provide it with standard health facilities.
On Wednesday, the minister visited the DHQ hospital and the basic health units in Shahbazkhel. He announced the up-gradation of hospitals. This improvement in the health sector will allow the people of Lakki to avail the best treatment services. The minister also declared the removal of the superintendent of the DHQ hospital over public complaints. He visited the District Headquarter Complex, Tajazai, and inspected the Rescue 1122 station and rehabilitation work on a government building.
Mr.Jhagra said that the Sehat Insaf Card program had facilitated the people of the distant district to get quality healthcare free of cost. Further, he added that in Insaf Card, more diseases would be added to be treated. Every citizen of the province could avail of treatment facilities worth Rs1 million using the card. During the last six months, over 300000 citizens have availed the facility of Sehat Insaf Card.
In the up-gradation budget, hospitals in South Waziristan, Tank, and Dera districts were also upgraded under the up-gradation program. The provincial government has so far recruited 200 doctors and 50 nurses in Dera hospital to add more relief to the health sector. So, for further improvement, the government allocated Rs60 million to bring betterment to health facilities.
