Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon said on Thursday (October 7) that they will transform the South District into a model district. They will do this by upgrading parks and removing encroachments.

The commissioner visited the Muslim Gymkhana, the park adjacent to the Federation House, Bagh Ibn e Qasim, YMCA Ground, Shaheen Complex, Village Garden Restaurant, Baradari Parking, YMCA Ground, and Jahangir Feroz Shah Culture Institute on the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) in the South District.

During his visit, he received information about the Supreme Court-ordered anti-encroachment operation. They brought the anti-encroachment drive near the KCR route to Commissioner Memon’s attention. The commissioner was also informed about anti-encroachment procedures at YMCA Ground and directed the relevant authorities to restore sporting activities there.

Lights and grills have been put around it. Furthermore, work on the green belt, jogging track, and restorations to the historic structure have been completed.
